The grand jury indicted defendant and appellant Ray Adams on two counts, Count I with conspiracy, and Count II with grand theft of personal property of the value of $8,500, to wit, a cashiers check in that amount belonging to Melitas Forster. Defendant admitted a charge of prior conviction of a felony and that he served a term of imprisonment therefor in a federal prison. A trial by jury resulted in a directed verdict of not guilty on the first count, and a verdict of guilty on the second count.
